Roll-N-Lock Retractable Tonneau Cover | Secure Truck Bed Protection
Our Roll-N-Lock M-Series delivers the security of a hard cover with the convenience of instant retraction. The patented aluminum slat design locks in any position along the bed rail, so you can secure partial loads or roll the entire cover back when hauling tall cargo. Each slat interlocks to form a rigid surface that resists prying and supports distributed weight up to 500 pounds.
We engineered the M-Series for daily drivers who need quick access without sacrificing protection. Installation takes about an hour with basic hand tools—no drilling through the bed floor. The low-profile canister sits flush with the cab, preserving rear visibility and maintaining your truck's clean lines.
Built for security and daily convenience

Aluminum slat construction and locking mechanism
Each Roll-N-Lock cover uses interlocking aluminum slats that slide on a rail system mounted to your bed’s side walls. The slats nest together when retracted, storing in a compact canister that measures just 12 inches from front to back. When you extend the cover, each slat locks into the next, forming a continuous rigid panel.
The locking cylinder sits on the driver’s side near the tailgate. Turn the key and the cover secures in the closed position, preventing the slats from retracting. You can also stop the cover mid-travel and let the slats rest in that position without the lock engaged—useful when you’re loading uneven cargo and need flexible coverage. The same rail architecture found in their retractable tonneau covers lineup carries through every model series, so replacement parts and accessories interchange across the product family.

Installation and bed compatibility
We designed the M-Series with a no-drill clamp system that attaches to the inner bed rail. You’ll receive two pre-assembled rail assemblies, the canister with pre-spooled slats, and all clamps and fasteners in one box. The process involves positioning the rails, tightening the clamps, sliding the canister into place, and connecting the slat track.
Truck bed fitment
The M-Series fits standard 5.5-foot, 6.5-foot, and 8-foot beds on most Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan models from 2005 onward. You’ll need to confirm your bed length and check for bed rail caps or bed liners that might interfere with the clamp position. If you run a spray-in liner, the clamps will still seat properly as long as the liner doesn’t cover the top inner edge of the bed rail. Drop-in liners may require minor trimming at the front corners to clear the canister.
Operating the cover and daily use
Pull the release strap from either side of the bed and the cover retracts toward the cab, rolling the slats into the canister. You can stop it at any point by releasing the strap—the slats hold their position without additional locks or pins. To close, pull the cover toward the tailgate until it reaches full extension, then engage the key lock.
The cover operates smoothly in temperatures from -40°F to 130°F. We use sealed ball bearings in the track system, so dust and grit don’t bind the mechanism. If you haul loads that sit taller than the bed rails, retract the cover fully and it stays tucked against the cab, out of the way. The slats won’t flap or rattle at highway speed because they remain tensioned in the canister.

Roll-N-Lock tonneau cover questions answered
Yes, the cover retracts toward the cab, so you can operate it without lowering the tailgate. Pull the release strap from either bed side and the slats roll into the canister. This is useful when you need to add or remove cargo from the side of the bed or when the tailgate is supporting a bike rack or other accessory.
The cover is fully compatible with spray-in liners as long as the liner doesn't cover the top inner edge of the bed rail where the clamps attach. Most spray-in liners stop just below that edge, so fitment is not an issue. If your liner extends over the rail's top surface, you may need to trim a small section at the front corners to clear the canister mounting brackets.
The canister measures 12 inches from the front of the bed toward the tailgate when fully retracted. This leaves the remaining bed length completely open for cargo. The canister sits flush with the cab, so it doesn't interfere with rear window visibility or create wind noise at highway speeds.
The cover is highly water-resistant but not waterproof. The rubber seals along the slat edges and side rails keep out road spray, light rain, and snow during normal driving. In heavy downpours or when using a pressure washer, a small amount of water may seep through the seams. Sensitive cargo should be stored in waterproof containers or bags for added protection.
Yes, one person can complete the installation in about 60 to 90 minutes using basic hand tools. The no-drill clamp system eliminates the need for power tools or permanent modifications to your truck bed. You'll attach the side rails, position the canister, and connect the slat track following the included instructions. A second person can make it easier to align the rails, but it's not required.
We back the M-Series with a lifetime warranty on all mechanical components, including the slats, rails, canister, and locking mechanism. The powder-coated finish is also covered for the life of the product against peeling, cracking, or corrosion under normal use. The warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.
A tonneau cover can improve aerodynamics by reducing drag in the open bed. Real-world fuel savings vary based on driving habits and speed, but many users report a 5 to 10 percent improvement in highway mileage. The low-profile canister and flush-mounted design minimize wind resistance compared to open bed configurations.
